The Beginning

December is a great month to get into the old testament. In Genesis we are able to learn about God's creations and gain a better understanding about the birth of Jesus Christ.

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. ² Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Accountability begins at home.  As your child enters school adding responsibility's of class work, homework and chores help to develop accountability skills. Last week we watched protesters act out to Michael Brown and Officer Wilson . Can you imagine the outcome if all parties read the 10 commandments. As parents we should  post the 10 commandments somewhere visible in our homes.  So that when we leave home it can be a positive reminder on making good choices.

Thanksgiving

In 1620 Pilgrims founded Plymouth Mass. The actual meaning of Pilgrim is a person who journeys, especially a long distance, to some sacred place as an act of religious devotion: pilgrims to the Holy Land.

God sent his son Jesus on the first Pilgrimage to deliver a very powerful message on how to live.

We should thank the Lord for that kind act.

As we sit at the dinner table today it is the perfect time to do a prayer of protection for our love ones.

Martin Luther King demonstrations address  civil rights, education, equality, housing, and the right to vote. Speaking of voting did you vote in your last local election? 

 Today as a random act of kindness we need to sit down and provide our children and family with a history lesson. This battle has already been fought. The question remains what are we doing to take King's vision to the next level.  Stop electing politicians that are not working for your highest good and greatest joy.

Philanthropy

In June 2006, Buffett announced his plans to contribute 10 million of his Berkshire Hathaway Class B shares to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, worth approximately $36 billion. This is said to be the largest single charitable donation in history. The foundation will receive 5% of the total donation on an annual basis in July, beginning in 2006. Buffett also plans to donate his remaining Berkshire shares to his family’s foundation headed by his three kids. His children will not inherit a significant portion of his wealth as he intends to use it for the good of humanity. “I want to give my kids enough so that they could feel that they could do anything, but not so much that they could do nothing,” says Buffett.

Poverty

Before cable and the internet families, friends and neighborhoods communicated with each other about our social needs.  Such as education, jobs, unemployment and voting rights.  Martin Luther King and his supporters did a great job.

At the turn of the century we allowed the right to survival slip away.  With outsourcing, lack of minimum wage reform, corporate downsizing and tax burden being shift to the middle class.  We soon witness many middle class families slipping into poverty.  Most Americans of all races never saw this coming. From Enron, IBM,   Manufacturing and Transportation.  This became the new face of poverty.  The educated impoverish.

When it comes to giving among the Hip-hop community,  icon and entrepreneur Russell Simmons stands above the rest. AOL reports that Simmons’s Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation and his Hip Hop Summit Action Network have directed millions of dollars to programs that serve urban youth,

As a  random act of kindness if you know a family or senior citizen that has experience a severe life style change .  Stop and offer assistance  maybe a meal. Be a Blessing and Give a Blessing of support!

to help the less fortunate.  We do not have to have a lot of money in our pockets.  If you know someone homeless or jobless stop and let the Holy Spirit work

Since the beginning of time we have been predestine by God to care and love each other. In the 80's it was famine and HIV/AIDS.  Today it is Famine and Ebola. Don't be so naive to think not in my neighborhood.  The whole world is our neighborhood.

I don't think even Hosea William could have imagine the magnitude of his legacy he left behind . He lived a great purpose filled life directed by the Holy Spirit. His entire family with the leadership of Elizabeth Omilami has create and outstanding foundation.

It is a learning experience. We can't complain about who did not vote for or how someone else voted.  The help that is needed will not come from man.   It will be delivered  directly from God.

I learned from my mother it's not how you fall.  It's how you get up!

 Two pastors and an elderly advocate for the homeless have reportedly been charged for feeding the underprivileged. The issue stems from a new city ordinance in Fort Lauderdale, Florida that makes sharing food with the homeless an offense. The incident occurred on Sunday when the three men were handing out dishes of food to local homeless folks

Isaiah shows us that all we need to help each other comes from Heaven. Our job is to give to the less fortunate.  As a random act of kindness treat someone to a cup of coffee or a meal. Be a Blessing give a Blessing of a brighter day!
