Genesis 2:9
New King James Version (NKJV)
9 And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
It's
tough enough to get into one Ivy League school. But all eight?
That's what happened to Kwasi Enin, a student at William Floyd High
School in..
Kwasi Enin |
As a senior at William Floyd High School in Mastic, NY Enin ranks
number 11 in his class, and scored 2,250 out of 2,400 points on his SAT,
which puts him in the 99th percentile for African-American students in
the country, reports USA Today.
An all-around achiever, the son of Ghanaian immigrants, will have completed 11 Advanced Placement classes by the time he graduates this spring. He also sings in the schools a capella group and volunteers at his local hospital.
Nancy Winkler, Enin's guidance counselor says, "I've never seen anything like it in my 15 years as a high school counselor. He's going to be a leader in whatever he chooses."
Many people lack the desire for knowledge educationally and spiritually when it comes to their personal life. I notice at my class reunion the one's that kept the desire to grow educationally and spiritually had the bigger pay check. I just love Kwasi Enin desire for knowledge. He represents God's tree of good. I am sure his Ghanaian parents has played a pivotal role in his desire to learn.
Some Americans tend to take our valuable resources of education for granted. As parents we have a moral obligation to develop and encourage our children to exceed. Every child will not be a Kwasi Enin but every young person deserves to have options. As a random act of kindness tell someone they to have the power to achieve. You might have to explain to them they have to put in time. In the end it's worth it. Be a Blessing. Give a Blessing!
